Join Daphne for a creative and educational jewelry making workshop. Where we will use the ancient technique of ‘Lost Wax Carving’ to hand make your design in wax, which will then be cast in silver. No experience is required as you'll be guided through the process from start to finish.

What we will do?

In this workshop we will learn the basics of the lost wax carving technique, and use this knowledge to design and make a jewel into wax. With guidance you will carve your unique design from wax and explore techniques for texturing the surface using the tools provided.

You can choose between making a ring (up to 8mm wide) or a pendant (approx. 15x15mm).

By the end of the workshop you will have created a wax master which will then be send to our local caster, where it will be cast in recycled silver. 

After arriving back from the caster, Daphne will hand finish your piece according to your specifications and post it back to you in a beautiful gift wrapped box within 3 weeks max.

    The time flew by! With super much pleasure and in supreme concentration, I made a silver signet ring in memory of my mother. I am really pleasantly surprised by the result. What a great ring it turned out to be! Daphne is an expert in her craft and can explain and guide very well.     It was wonderful to do! And a very nice, relaxed atmosphere. A small group, which made it cozy and everyone got good tips and attention. Also in terms of length just right! Oh maybe I had to mention 1 thing. The most fun was to fiddle with the wax and all the tools.

How much does the workshop cost?

The 2- 2,5 hour workshop is 150 Euro's per person which includes all the materials like wax and silver, use of tools, my tuition, coffee - tea and delicious refreshments, casting your piece in recycled silver, finishing - polishing and return postage (incl. gift wrapping of course) to you.

Pieces larger than the specifications above will incur an extra charge. Should you wish to have your finished piece plated in yellow gold then an extra 30 Euro is payable on the day. And if you wish to go fancy and have your piece casted in 14k yellow solid gold, then this is also possible.

How many people can attent?

The workshop will take place with a minimum of 4 people, and a maximum of 6 people. If for any reason there will not be 4 people attending the workshop on your day I will refund your payment in total.

 

I don’t speak Dutch?

Workshops are held both in English and Dutch and even a little German.

 

Where and when do the jewelry making workshops take place?

All jewelry making workshops take place at my ‘kitchen table’ in Amsterdam Noord, at walking distance from the Metro. The upcoming dates are mentioned in the listing above.

Private jewelry making workshop and bachelorette parties.

If you can't make it to any of the ‘kitchen table’ workshop dates, but would like to enquire about a private workshop for 4-6 people, maybe for a Bachelorette party, or a Creative friends evening. What about a Team Building afternoon with colleagues, or a Family weekend activity, you name it. I would love to learn you this beautiful technique and have you experience the art of making jewelry with your hands.

Cancellation policy

All sales are final within 2 weeks prior to the event date. Workshops will take place with a minimum of 4 people, and a maximum of 6 people. If for any reason there will not be 4 people attending the workshop I will refund your payment in total.
