2 Day Atelier Intro Session

Discover how to transform your creative spark into a powerful, personal piece of jewelry using wax.

In these two-day intro sessions, I will guide you step by step through this ancient craft. You’ll learn how to shape jewelry in wax with your hands and turn it into a finished silver piece. In just two days, you'll go from curiosity to confident creation.

The goal of these sessions is to become familiar working with wax and understand the casting and finishing proces. With this foundation, you can continue in the Weekly Atelier Sessions or start creating your own jewelry independently.

In these 2 days you will be introduced to the full process of wax casting.

The first day (9.00 - 13.00hr) you will make your chosen design, using varias wax working techniques. We will then prepare your wax master model for casting. You will be guided through understanding casting cost, and where and how to have your first piece cast. Or I can have it cast for you.

The second day (14.30 - 17.30hr or 9.30 - 12.30hr) we will hand finish your cast silver model, taking off the sprue, filing, sanding and polishing it. Making it ready to wear.

After this 2 day atelier intro session you can continue your practice in the Weekly Atelier Sessions and deepen your wax knowledge, exploring the other types of wax, and techniques used to make varies pieces of jewelry.

+ Introduction to tools – which tools you need and which are best for specific projects.
+ You’ll gain knowledge of various wax techniques, including:

• Wax Carving
• Wax Building
• Wax Modeling

+ You’ll work with different types of wax, each with their own character and possibilities.
+ You'll gain insight into the Lost Wax Casting technique and casting process, and learn how to best align your design using this technique.
+ You’ll receive an overview of foundries in the Netherlands and learn how to calculate the cost of turning your wax master model into metal.
+ Small group of max 4, lots of personal guidance.
+ Use of wax and tools in my Atelier, fully equipped for wax work.
+ Two wholesome days of inspiration, creativity, and new knowledge.

Note: The casting cost, as well as the silver are not included in the price.
