ATELIER SESSIONS
weekly wax jewelry making,
to get out of your head and into your hands
-
In the atelier, a calm yet welcoming concentration naturally emerges, where everyone slowly becomes absorbed in their own work while your workbench fills with different types of wax, tools, and forms that are still taking shape.
You work on your own design, your own idea, but the energy of creating together makes it feel different from working at home. There is space for focus, for small conversations about a shape or technique, and for those moments when someone makes a new discovery.
While you work, I am there to look along with you. With over 20 years of experience working with jewelry wax and the Lost Wax process, I can often quickly see where a design could become technically stronger before it is cast, or which small adjustment could lift a form to the next level.
You can ask me anything here: about working with wax, tools and techniques, but also about casting, materials, and how the jewelry world and industry work.
At the same time, the atelier is above all a place where you are given the space to make what you want, and slowly discover which forms, ideas, and style truly belong to you.
Many makers notice that working here feels different from working at home: there is more focus, more confidence to experiment, and often more space for new ideas.
The atelier becomes a place where your work can grow, and where a simple piece of wax can sometimes become the beginning of something you might never have imagined.
Because these Atelier Sessions are not step-by-step workshops, it is important that you already have experience working with wax and understand the process of casting and finishing.
For this reason, you can choose between two types of sessions. -
Which Sessions are right for me?
-
Choose the 4-week Atelier Intro Sessions if you:
- have never made a piece of jewelry in wax
- have never had a piece of jewelry cast
- have not yet finished a silver piece yourself
- would like to learn the entire process step by step
- want to know where to buy materials and where to have your work cast
-
Choose the Atelier Sessions if you:
- already have experience working with wax and the Lost Wax process
- have previously made a wax model
- have had a wax model cast and finished it in silver or gold
- want to work independently on new designs
If you are unsure, the Atelier Intro Sessions are often the best place to start.
-
Atelier Intro Sessions
During these 4 sessions, we will go through the entire process together, from idea to a finished silver ring, so that afterwards you can continue working independently during the Atelier Sessions and deepen your skills in this craft.
During the Atelier Intro Sessions- you will learn the most important tools used in wax carving
- you will learn where to buy jewelry wax and tools
- you will make your first ring in wax
- you will learn how and where to have your piece cast
- how you can continue working at home
-
After these sessions, you will have enough basic knowledge to work independently at home or in the atelier.
-
Atelier Sessions
The Atelier Sessions are open atelier working sessions.
You arrive with an idea, a design, or simply curiosity, and work on your own pieces in wax.
There is space to:
- explore new forms
- develop a ring collection
- refine techniques
- work calmly and with focus
I am present to look along with you, answer questions, and offer guidance when needed, but the focus remains on your own making process.
During an Atelier Session- you work on your own wax designs
- you can use the atelier, necessary wax and basic tools
- you work in a small group with other makers
- you receive guidance when needed
These sessions are intended for people who:
- are familiar with the Lost Wax process
- know where to buy materials and tools
- understand how and where casting works
- can finish a silver cast piece themselves
- are able to work independently on their designs
