Wedding Rings
Two uniquely made rings. Created by couples, friends, mother and daughters, partners and lovers.
Many names to describe a unique togetherness between 2 people,
creating a wearable loving memory.
-
Your own uniquely handmade wedding rings.
Creating your own rings can be a fulfilling and wholesome experience. The time you spend together crafting and perhaps making each other’s wedding ring is a moment in your path together. The ring symbolising your personal style and craft, making them exactly as you wish with your own hands.
-
Maybe you have an idea, maybe you need some inspiration. Either way you have decided to create your wedding rings yourself. In this Workshop you will have total freedom within the boundaries of the material. The options are endless and very personal. But don't worry, I will guide you from start till finish.
We start the day with coffee, tea and cake, we chat and fine tune the design that we have communicated over by email in the weeks leading up to the Workshop. Then we start the process of filing, cutting and modelling the design. When your rings are ready we will weigh them to give you an estimate in the cost for casting. I work with local casters, that use recycled gold. If you wish to use your own gold this is also a possibility. Side note is that using your own gold will not necessarily be ‘cheaper’ as the caster needs to make a separate casting flask just for you.
After the Workshop I will make sure your rings will be casted by the professional caster, and I will personally hand finish and polish both of them.
Optionally you can have the rings set with stones and / or engraved with your handwriting. -
Timing
To make sure we have enough time to make sure your wedding rings will be ready before THE DAY, it is recommended to reach out to me at least 3/4 months in advance. This allows us time to set a Workshop date and go through the proces of designing, creating, casting, finishing and possible stone setting and engraving.
-
The Workshop
The Workshop will be around 4 hours. It will be an intens morning or afternoon with coffee and tea moments in between. But if you wish you can also have a lunch break to divide the day, and go out for some fresh air and a bite at one of the lunch places like Dignita, Anne&Max, Bagels&Beans or Novitalia.

Your metal of choice
In the Netherlands Gold is only considered to be called Gold when 14k or higher. For wedding rings we usually use 14k gold, but also 18k gold is commonly used these days. 18 Karat gold gives a little more lush buttery yellow color than 14 karat. We can choose between yellow gold, white gold or rose gold. In the end it is all about your preference.
-
Engraving
There are more options than you can ever imagine, even hand scribbling your love sign can be added to your ring by my trusted engraver.
-
Diamonds and precious stones
I work together with a specialised stone setter, who can also source the perfect stone for you. Whether you like to include a diamond (natural or laboratory made) or any other stone, you can make this part of your design. Pricing is depending on the stones and type of settings you choose.

The process
After you have ordered the Wedding Ring Workshop I will be in touch with you via email, discussing preferred days. (or if you wish we can also discuss days prior to making the purchase, just send me an email at hello@daphnevandermeulen.com) I will send you a short questionary, asking you about your wedding date, preferences and if you might already have ideas. I will include a whole bunch of inspiration, and more detailed information about how the proces works. In the time leading up to the Workshop we will email about your ideas and design. This is to make the Workshop time as valuable as possible. During the Workshop I’ll guide you through the process and help you where needed. After the Workshop the wax rings will be casted, and hand finished by me. Optional stones will be set by a professional stone setter and engraving will be done if you wish to include this. The rings are ready to be picked up, or optionally will be send to you by insured Track and Trace.
-
The initial payment includes my time, guidance and expertise to help you translate your design ideas into your rings of love. It also includes use of my tools, studio and all the wax needed to make your design and the finishing and polishing of your rings after the casting is completed.
The payment is excluding the metal, stones and setting, engraving and shipping cost.
